About Us
Welcome to the Intracellular Parasite Education and Research Labs (iPEARL). We are a globally connected research group dedicated to understanding infectious diseases and fostering the next generation of scientific leaders. Founded by Professor Nishith Gupta, iPEARL functions as an advanced, integrated hub dedicated to rigorous infection research, advanced pedagogical training, and institutional outreach. By synergizing state-of-the-art facilities with a globally distributed network of investigators, iPEARL operates as a conduit for the seamless transnational transfer of scientific paradigms, technical competencies, and technological innovations. Our foundational scientific mandate focuses on elucidating the mechanistic intricacies of host-pathogen interactions at the cellular level, with a specialized emphasis on mitigating the global burden of clinically significant parasite-borne etiologies, notably Toxoplasmosis, Malaria, and Eimeriosis. Facilitated by cross-border scholar exchange frameworks and thematic symposia, the laboratory cultivates a cooperative ecosystem wherein reproducible, high-fidelity research addresses critical imperatives in global public health.
To actualize this mandate, iPEARL engenders a stratified, empirically measurable impact across international, national, and regional strata. Internationally, the consortium co-develops standardized methodologies and expedites the translational trajectory of fundamental discoveries into viable diagnostic, prophylactic, and therapeutic modalities via cross-continental collaborations. Domestically, iPEARL fortifies indigenous research infrastructure by instituting scholar-enrichment paradigms, facilitating access to centralized core facilities, and administering practice-oriented pedagogical frameworks that elevate early-career investigators. At the regional nexus, the initiative collaborates with academic and health institutions to expand educational trajectories and enhance awareness and vigilance regarding infectious etiologies. Through the rigorous quantification of these outcomes–encompassing peer-reviewed literature, extramural funding acquisitions, the dissemination of shared scientific resources, and the international cultivation of young scholars, iPEARL remains resolute in its objective to function as a preeminent, collaborative epicenter for infection research, academic training, public education, scientific communication and societal outreach.
